From New Orleans to Brazil: A Journey into the Heart of Culture

Culture isn’t passive—it’s practiced in the way we move, connect, and resist. In every act of collective joy, we’re not just inheriting traditions… we’re creating them. This is where change begins.

Originally from New Orleans, I landed in Brazil in 2003 with a simple goal: to understand how culture shapes the human experience. But something unexpected happened. While studying differences, I became obsessed with what connects us—the universal rhythms of joy, belonging, and presence.

Two decades later, here’s what I know:
Modern culture often isolates us, but our deepest happiness comes from creating together—whether through capoeira’s fluid movements, shared music, or collective storytelling. These moments dissolve barriers and wake us up to our shared humanity.

Now, I unite communities by turning cultural expression into a toolkit for awareness. Because when we dance, sing, or collaborate, we’re not just celebrating culture—we’re rewriting it.
