Workshops – Capoeira for Conscious Community

Transformative Learning Through Movement, Dialogue & Joy

I design dynamic, interactive workshops for youth (ages 5-22) and community leaders, using capoeira as a tool to explore identity, belonging, and resilience. More than a martial art, capoeira is a living classroom—where every movement, rhythm, and circle (roda) becomes a lesson in community-building, self-worth, and cultural awareness.

What We Explore

  • The Power of Community
How does belonging shape our confidence? Through capoeira’s cooperative play, we experience interdependence—learning how to support, challenge, and grow with others.
  • Agency & Self-Esteem
What makes us valuable in society? We reframe “strength” beyond individualism, discovering how our unique gifts contribute to collective thriving.
  • Modern Culture’s Disconnects
Why do we feel isolated despite being “connected”? We critique systems that fragment community while practicing tangible ways to reclaim connection.
  • Resilience Through Rhythm
Capoeira’s call-and-response philosophy teaches adaptability—a metaphor for navigating life’s challenges with creativity and joy.

Workshop Formats

  • For Youth: Games, storytelling, and capoeira basics to ignite self-expression and teamwork.
  • For Leaders: Restructuring community-building through embodied practice and dialogue.
  • Customizable: Tailored to schools, universities, NGOs, or cultural centers.

“The roda doesn’t just teach us to move—it teaches us to listen, trust, and rise together.”
